How To Set Up Your Website
If you don’t have a clue how to set up your website, keep reading. Starting a website can be very daunting for a newbie to the web. In this article I’ll try
to clear things up a bit for you.
First, take some time to think about what you want your site to be. There is a reason why you want to start a website. Is it just for fun, do you want to
start an online business or some other reason.
It’s true, anyone can start a website these days. There are so many easy Site Builders online today as well as Content Management Systems, (CMS), to
store all your content.
No matter what you will use your website for, it is the place where all your content (stuff) will be stored. You will need to choose a Content
Management System to store your website and create the content that you put into your website.
My favorite (CMS) is WordPress. It is the most popular one online and it’s easy to learn and use and offers lots of support as well.
If you just want a website to share fun stuff with friends and family, it’s very simple. Just use the site Builder to build your site,(it only takes about a
minute), choose a theme and create a few pages.
Then start posting pretty pictures and some recipes or whatever you want to share. Simple! But if you want to start an online business, there’s a few
more things you’ll need to do.
- Choose a niche and domain name
- Optimize your site for search engines
- write and organize your content
- learn how to get traffic to your site using keywords
- monetize your site to make money
Choosing Your Niche And Domain
Your domain should be something relevant to your niche or what you will be writing content about. Your niche should be something that you are
passionate about or something you have a great interest in and want to learn a lot more about.
The reason for this it’s because you are going to be writing a lot of keyword Rich content about it. If you can’t write a lot of content, you will never get
traffic (visitors) to your website. Getting traffic to your site is how you make money. A person searches online for a solution for something, or a
particular product. Your content has keywords that the person searched for that will bring them to your website where they will find a solution to their
problem or find the product they were searching for.
You have solved their problem and started to establish trust and Authority in your website.
Optimizing Your Site For Search Engines
What is optimizing and how do I do it, you might ask. It’s not just one thing. It’s a process. You’ll start this process by writing outstanding, keyword
Rich, content. I don’t mean just putting a bunch of words on a Blog. This content must be well thought-out, relevant to what you’re going to be
promoting, easy to read and interesting.
It must contain relevant keywords that the people are searching for. Folks are searching for Solutions and your content must have the answers they
are searching for.
It must contain attention-grabbing headlines and end with a great call to action that will make them want more. I use a Content writing platform to
write my articles. It is set up to show you a certain number of paragraph for headers as well as introduction and closing and even has a place for the
call to action. It shows you where everything goes so you can just fill in the proper content. It helps you to keep your word count where it should be as
well as includes thousands of images for your articles. If you’re writing awesome, interesting, helpful content and including great, relative key words
you will get free organic traffic to your website. If you are helping offer solutions that folks are searching for, you will not need to pay to get traffic.
Most often the paid traffic is not nearly as relevant to your website as the organic traffic will be.
Monetizing Your Website
This is how you make money or other gains. It is by the products you post that solves the problems of your visitors.
So Much More
There is so much more to setting up your website for Success. This is just sort of an outline. I’ll be creating in-depth articles on each and every part of
it as we move along. There is no perfect website so once you feel pretty confident that it all looks okay, then go ahead and publish it. Things will pop
up that need to be changed or need to have an update and that’s okay. Never stop monitoring your site. Keep it fresh and updated constantly.
Beautifying Your Site
Pretty is not the most important factor of your website. There are many things that are much more valuable than how your site looks, such as how.
frequently you are writing content, are you researching and using the best keywords out there, are you including keywords in your titles and your
headliners and are you offering great solutions to what people are searching for when people search on Google or other search engines they are
looking for help. They may be searching for a product or few ways to do something but they are looking for a solution. You have the opportunity to
give them that solution they’re looking for.
Just be vigilant about learning how to set up your website, do your keyword research, focus on helping people by offering solutions they are searching for and you will do fine. Again, it’s all
about helping people, not about how beautiful your website is. Concentrate on your content. There will be plenty of time later to beautify your
website. I people find the answers they are searching for they won’t care what your website looks like.
